Merchandiser Location: Surat, Gujarat (Remote/Field-Based) Company: HAY! Employment Type: Full-Time About HAY! HAY! is a fast-growing women's fashion brand with 50+ retail stores across Tamil Nadu and a rapidly expanding digital presence. We are committed to delivering stylish, comfortable, and affordable fashion while maintaining high standards in quality, sourcing, and production. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Production Merchandiser based in Surat to coordinate with our vendor network and support our product development and sourcing operations. Role Overview As a Production Merchandiser, you will act as the key point of contact between our Surat-based vendors and the Head Office Designing Team. You will coordinate fabric sourcing, monitor production progress, ensure timely communication, and maintain quality standards throughout the development process. This is a field-oriented role that requires regular visits to vendor facilities and fabric markets in Surat while working closely with our Head Office team. Key Responsibilities Coordinate between the Head Office Designing Team and Surat-based vendors. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturing partners. Visit vendor units regularly to monitor production status and resolve day-to-day issues. Source fabrics, trims, and other raw materials as per design requirements. Coordinate sample development and ensure timely delivery of samples. Follow up on production timelines and communicate updates to the Head Office. Ensure product quality meets company standards before dispatch. Resolve vendor-related issues and support smooth production execution. Maintain accurate records of sourcing, production progress, and vendor communication. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time product launches. Requirements 1-3 years of experience in Merchandising, Production Coordination, Sourcing, or the Apparel/Fashion industry. Experience working with garment manufacturers and fabric suppliers. Strong knowledge of fabric sourcing and garment production processes. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in English and regional languages (Hindi/Gujarati) is mandatory. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel for maintaining reports and production updates. Ability to work independently and manage multiple vendor relationships. Willingness to travel extensively within Surat for vendor visits and fabric sourcing. Preferred Skills Strong vendor management and coordination skills. Excellent follow-up and problem-solving abilities. Good understanding of garment construction and quality standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and documentation skills.
