Job Description & Scope
Role Summary: Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch garment components as per assigned operations, meeting production targets and quality standards for institutional uniform orders. Key Responsibilities: Operate single-needle, overlock, flatlock, or other machines as assigned per the operation bulletin. Stitch garment parts (seams, hems, collars, cuffs, plackets, etc.) according to the sample and specification sheet. Meet daily piece-rate output targets while maintaining stitching quality (SPI, seam alignment, no puckering or skipped stitches). Follow the Lot Travel Card system β€” pick, stitch, and pass bundles in correct sequence. Conduct in-line self-checks and flag defects to the line supervisor / checker. Keep the machine clean, oiled, and report any mechanical faults promptly. Adhere to factory working hours, safety norms, and shop-floor discipline. Requirements: Prior experience operating industrial sewing machines (knits and/or wovens). Ability to read and follow operation instructions and meet output norms. Attention to detail and consistency in quality. Basic understanding of garment construction preferred. Compensation: Piece-rate, as per operation rate card.
