Job Description & Scope
1. Develop quality policies, inspection procedures and garment acceptance criteria.
2. Establish incoming fabric, trims, cutting, in-line, end-line and final inspection procedures.
3. Review customer specifications, tolerance requirements, approved samples and workmanship standards.
4. Plan inspection manpower according to production volume and order risk.
5. Ensure that measuring equipment is suitable, verified and maintained.
6. Analyse defects by style, operation, machine, operator and production stage.
7. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA).
8. Establish defect-prevention controls with production, cutting, finishing and merchandising.
9. Coordinate fabric and garment testing with approved laboratories when required.
10. Investigate customer complaints and implement documented corrective actions.
11. Conduct quality training and internal quality audits.
12. Maintain inspection records, defect reports, test reports and product-release records.
13. Recommend holding or rejecting nonconforming products until authorized disposition
14. Review supplier quality performance with the purchase department
15. Inspect fabric, trims, cut panels, stitched garments or finished garments as assigned.
16. Check measurements against approved measurement charts and tolerances.
17. Inspect seams, collars, cuffs, pockets, buttons, zippers, labels, logos and finishing.
18. Identify stains, holes, shade variation, uneven stitching and construction defects.
19. Record defects accurately and segregate nonconforming pieces.
20. Recheck corrected garments before release to the next stage.
21. Verify garment identity, size and colour during inspection.
22. Maintain inspection records and immediately report critical defects.
