Having enough skilled workers for various job roles is an issue for apparel manufacturers and to overcome this challenge, the Jaipur-based Association of Garment Exporters Sitapura (AGES), Jaipur and Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at ATDC’s head office at Gurugram.

With more than 200 members promoting Jaipur’s apparel manufacturing industry, AGES is a prestigious trade body and ATDC is the biggest organisation for skill development in India’s apparel industry.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Rakesh Vaid, Senior Chairman of ATDC; Arif Kagzi, President, AGES; Harish Punjabi, Naveen Advani, Aseem Singla of AGES; HKL Magu, former Chairman, AEPC and Dr. Vijay Mathur, DG, ATDC.

In a statement, AGES informed that this significant partnership will enable AGES to access specialised manpower in apparel manufacturing.

“ATDC’s commitment to empowering the workforce is commendable, and we are excited about the positive impact this collaboration will have on the sector,” said Arif Kagzi and further added that along with skill development, the MoU will also focus on creating a workforce that will drive innovation and growth in the apparel industry.

Rakesh Vaid emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating, “This partnership will not only enhance the skill sets of individuals entering the industry but also contribute to the overall growth of the apparel sector in India.”

The collaboration marks a pivotal moment for both organisations, reinforcing their dedication to empowering the workforce and ensuring sustainable development within the industry.

ATDC will focus on the specific needs of AGES and will develop courses accordingly since the industry in Jaipur also requires CAD Masters, Lab technicians, fashion designers, merchants, supervisors, production managers, finishing in-charges and more.
