• Shri Rakesh Vaid is a distinguished entrepreneur and a stalwart of the Indian textile industry, with over three decades of experience driving growth and innovation. As Chairman of Usha Fabs Group, a leading manufacturer and exporter of readymade garments, he has played a pivotal role in enhancing India’s apparel sector.
• During his tenure as Chairman of the Apparel Exports Promotion Council (AEPC), Shri Vaid collaborated closely with government ministries, shaping export policies and promoting Indian garments on the global stage. He led initiatives such as international fashion shows like ‘URJA’ and the India International Garment Fair, creating valuable platforms for exporters to connect with global buyers. His efforts also included expanding markets through trade delegations and spearheading capacity-building projects like the Apparel House Building in Gurugram and the Knitwear Technology Mission in Tirupur.
• Currently, as Sr. Vice Chairman of the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC), India’s largest apparel vocational institute, Shri Vaid focuses on skill development and entrepreneurship, empowering thousands of professionals, particularly marginalized communities and women. His vision integrates education and sustainable development, further reflected in his leadership of NGOs like Holy Basil and cultural initiatives through the Muktaangan Trust.
