Delhi Govt. sponsors Skill Courses through ATDC

ATDC is the nodal skill development & training institute working with the Deptt of SC/ST Govt. of GNCT of Delhi for imparting job-oriented courses in garment and fashion technology since 2007. About 2500 youth has already been trained under this prestigious vocational training project in various courses have been already trained and placed in the garment industry and also in self-employed ventures. Delhi Scheduled Classes Finance Development Corporation (DSFDC) is the implementing agency and ATDC & DSFDC jointly mobilize and select candidates. The training is provided to Delhi resident youth belonging to marginalized
sections of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities/EWS of the general category. Courses like 1 yr Diploma in Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Fashion Design Technology (FDT) and Certificate courses like Pattern Maker and Merchandiser are offered for selection by the candidate as per their qualification and aptitude. In the FY 2021-22, 550 candidates were trained in various courses at State-of-the-Art ATDC Vocational Training Institutes located in Dwarka, Okhla,
Ayanagar, Dilshad Garden and Rohini. In FY 22-23, the Deptt of SC/ST/OBC, Govt.of Delhi on the occasion of Teacher’s day released the admission notice in leading newspapers,
calling for applications from the target group towards 1000 free-ships/sponsorships. Wide promotions were done by ATDC on the ground and 2276 candidates applied for the courses. Upon personal interviews and screening, 1157 candidates were shortlisted and they started their training in the month of March 2023 at ATDCs in Dwarka, Okhla, Dilshad Garden and Rohini. The total outlay of the training initiative is approx. Rs 5 Crore. The courses aim at giving employable skills as per industry requirement to the candidates so that they are ready for various jobs roles in the garment industry. Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Noida gives ample job opportunities to pass outs. The career options available to candidates are Quality Executives, Assistant Merchandisers and Assistant Fashion Designers in salaries ranging between Rs.15000 to Rs 20000 in the beginning. All the courses have an essential module of
48 hours of Personal Advancement Career Enhancement Programme (P.A.C.E. of Gap Inc.) which is added to improve communication skills and improve execution excellence in
candidates. Candidates are also imparted entrepreneurial skills and candidates will be taking up projects on making garments and articles and ATDC will provide a platform to students through ATDC Shoppe.

 

Sh Raaj Kumar Anand, Hon’ble Minister, Social Welfare confers Certificates to ATDC students

On completion of certificate courses, ATDC organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony at ATDC Dilshad Garden on 15 February 2023. Sh Raaj Kumar Anand,Hon’ble Minister, Social Welfare conferred certificates to students of the sanction 2021-22 and having successfully completed Diploma & Certificate Courses in Apparel Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Fashion Design Technology (FDT) and Certificate courses in Pattern Maker and Merchandiser. Students who have been successfully placed upon completion of the training were also present to receive their certificates.About 320 students were presented certificates by Hon’ble Minister on the stage and about 150 in absentia. ATDC VC Sh Rakesh Vaid, DG &CEO Sh Vijay Mathur, Director Smt Gurpreet Kaur and Smt Anju Randhawa, Deputy Manager DSFDC and Sh B B Batra, Assistant Manager DSFDC graced the ceremony and interacted and motivated the students.

ATDC has entered in to an MOU with Odisha School Education Programme Authority in February 2021 for engagement as a Training Partner in Apparel Sector.

ATDC is providing Vocational Trainer for the training in the schools. ATDC ensure that the entire vocational content is delivered in the classroom with in the stipulated time and also maintain the quality parameters. ATDC is inviting and organizing guest lecturers from domain related experts working in industry also conduct the domain specific Industry visit as per guidelines.
Samagra Shiksha – an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12 has been, therefore, prepared with the broader
goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes.
The scheme envisages the ‘school’ as a continuum from pre-school, primary, upper primary, secondary to Senior Secondary levels. The vision of the Scheme is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education from pre-school to senior secondary stage in accordance for Education.
The major objectives of the scheme are quality education and enhancing learning outcomes of students. Ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education.
It’s Promoting Vocationalization of education.
The project has been approved for the State of Odisha by Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI).

ATDC has entered in to an MOU with Delhi Board of School Education in August 2023 for engagement as a Knowledge Partner in Apparel Sector.

Delhi Board School Education (DBSE) is desirous of implementing Fashion Studies Course in the ‘School of Specialized Excellence (SoSE)’ and ‘School of Applied Learning (SoAL)’ for Class 9th to 12th DBSE affiliated schools. The key objective of this project is to provide exposure to the students in their secondary grades and strengthen the ability of the students with employability skills and help the students be informed about career choices/opportunities.

ATDC is organizing Capacity Building of the Specialized Resource Persons (SRPs) engaged for Grades 9 of SoAL based on their designed course curriculum, which should include technical content knowledge, classroom management techniques, teaching as leadership, technology in education (course specific), design thinking, gender neutrality, check for understanding (CFU), pedagogy and constructive teaching practices by bringing in experts from the respective fields.

ATDC is engaged in on-Boarding and deployment of Specialized Resource Person in High-End 21st Century Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE) and School of Applied Learning (SoAL). For overall management of the SRPs throughout the duration of the agreement, including issuing offers letters, disbursement of the honorarium and leave management etc.
